Things to Think About
By Pepper de Callier
“I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.'” Muhammad Ali
This has to be one of my favorite quotes of all time. It’s kind of a variation of the old “Pay me now, or pay me later” quote I remember hearing as a child, but it has so much more resonance to me as an adult. Think about it for a moment. Close your eyes. You can just visualize the pain of the journey, the human frailty, the discouragement one feels along the way. And then, just then, you feel the exhilaration of crossing that imaginary line and becoming a champion and the great sense of pride in believing in yourself and not giving up. Come to think of it, this wouldn’t be a bad screen-saver quote. Good luck on your journey!
Till next time…
